The art of water-gilding is a traditional centuries-old technique that produces beautiful, high quality mouldings. A water-gilded moulding is easily recognised by its distinctive shine, transparent finish and characteristic overlap of the leaves (gold, silver or metal). The 'ayous' wood is kiln dried, worked to avoid warpage and milled. The moulding is then worked by hand through the lengthy, 6 stage water-gilding process by master craftsmen.
